Napoleonic War Bethnal Green Volunteers Medal


Scarce Napoleonic Wars medal struck by order of Lt Colonel Carrick on the disbanding of the Bethnal Green Volunteers. Fine silver example by P Wyon.

The back shows a figure of Victory and beneath a dragon with the text

"England’s Perseverance Dethroned Buonaparte".

On other side is an oak and laurel victory wreath marked "Bethnal Green Volunteer Infantry Lieutenant Colonel Carrick - Enrolled 13.August 1803 and disembodied at the General Peace of Europe 24. June1814".
