Graduate in Medicine and Surgery from the University in Pisa in 1983 with the mark of 110 cum laude and with the merit of having his thesis published in the ophthalmology field on the stereoscopic sense in aphakics.

Specialised in OPHTHALMOLOGY at the University of Pisa in 1987 with the mark of 70 cum laude and merit of publication of his specialization thesis on an experimental project for the production of an Expert Intra Eye System (EIES) performed in collaboration with the C.N.R. (Italian National Research Institute) of Pisa and in this instance at the Image Processing Institute (I.E.I.) with which he had successfully collaborated for years, as a researcher of the Ophthalmology Clinic of the University of Pisa directed at that time by Prof. Alberto Maria Wirth.

Volunteer teaching assistance (from 1983 to 1990), for years he performed the functions of researcher and teacher (at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery and the Specialisation School for Ophthalmology, Nursing and Physical Therapy) on behalf of Prof. Alberto Maria Wirth.

From 1983 to 1990 he held research positions at numerous Pharmaceutical Companies specialising in Ophthalmology for which he tested various drugs with the production of countless scientific publications including in prestigious international journals. For these Companies he performed conferences, courses at research and scientific centres and for employees all over Italy and abroad ( Brazil , Portugal , etc.).

He has participated in countless National and International Ophthalmology Conventions as a speaker and organizer. He is the author of numerous scientific publications and a monograph.

Academic and Academic Emeritus at the Academy of Sciences in Moscow .
