Flash Battery's role in THOR European project

Consortiums between companies, research organisations and institutions play a crucial role in fostering technological progress in the battery sector in Europe, which is often hampered by the time-consuming and costly testing protocols that slow down the introduction of new-generation batteries onto the market.

It is in this context that Thor was born, the European Project part of the Horizon Europe Framework Programme that, from June 2023, sees Flash Battery working together with 8 other partners from 6 European countries. The objective? To speed up testing processes to streamline the European battery value chain by developing a digital twin to provide accurate predictive predictions of cell, module and battery pack performance, reducing the need for physical prototypes.

An approach that aims to create concrete benefits across the entire production chain with concrete results in minimising material waste, reducing operating costs and improving safety.
