Danni da vento sulle alberature del Comune di Formigine (MO)
In June 1998, a strong storm resulted in the breakage of 338 trees planted along streets and in urban parks of Formigine, a small city close to Modena (N. Italy). After listing the species which suffered the most damage ( Tilia europaea, Robinia pseudoacacia and Populus sp.) and their relative number, the main types of damage are described, and cultural treatments undertaken to repair the damage are also noted. Most damaged trees were those known to be susceptible to wind, or had been badly top-pruned.
